This is the Magna Carta Memorial, it was created by the American Bar association in 1957. This appears to be all there is at Runnymede to celebrate the signing of the Magna Carta and with the 800th anniversary coming in 2015 one would thought there would be more at this important site. There was to have been a major centre built in time for the anniversary but as usual funding has been withdrawn so who knows what will happen. There is a tea room on the site but that is all (due to listed building rules not wheelchair friendly) .
