Description

'Traffic Light Tree' in Westferry Road

This brilliant piece of artwork is standing over 8 metres tall it has 75 fully working traffic signal heads. It was created by Pierre Vivant for Christmas in 1998. It was initially hoped that the lights would be triggered to show flurries of activity on the London Stock Exchange, but this proved to be too expensive to put into practice.

Ha! What a laugh! I'm glad I didn't drive up on it though, may have caused and accident trying to follow the road. Great pic! I've never heard this mentioned before.
