HM Prison Leicester

The Prison is situated in Welford Road in the Southfields area of Leicester immediately north of Nelson Mandela Park. A Mandela quotation in the park reads: 'There is no easy walk to freedom anywhere'. The Prison was designed by William Parsons to resemble a castle and was opened in 1828.
