A picture of Gainsborough

Foxby Hill, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, site of the Battle of Gainsborough, 1643. This a view from the top of the hill looking west. Cavendish's Royalist army was positioned to the right of the road (where the modern houses are now). To the left is Warren Wood, from the direction of which the Parliamentarians launched their charge.
