Hi Gillian and a warm welcome to POE (Pictures of England).

Please help us to help you by giving us as much information as you already have found on your Forest family of Burford.

We especially need specific names and dates and who or what you particularly would like information on!

It is quite possible that there is more than one Forest family in and around the area and there would be no point in us finding out information on the wrong family!

Gillian, I reckon the members will still have problems trying to help you simply because you don't use any punctuation. So a few comma's here and there wouldn't go amiss. It would be good if you could edit your post please.

If it helps sorting the names out and time scale, Willie Forest married Lydia Moulding in Cirencester, Gloucs in 1920.

All the Forests of Burford are related to each other and are descended from John Forest born around 1781 at Thornton Cheshire and who moved to Burford at the turn of the century, marrying a Sarah Dowler in 1804.

John's parents were John Forest and Martha Acton, born abt 1845. The name Acton later appears regularly as a second christian name.

Willie Forest was born abt 1893 and his line back is then

Richard Arthur Forest 1844, Boot Dealer, m Alice O'Donnel.

Richard Acton Forest 1809, Tailor m Elizabeth

John Forest 1781, Tailor m Sarah Dowler

And here's me thinking this post was about someone trying to locate a family who lived in a forest near Burford!  LOL!  I've been away too long apparently, and working too hard.  I've missed my PoE pals.
