Normanton Church View with Boat

When the Rutland Water reservoir was to be built it meant flooding a large part of Ephingham, including the church. As the nearby residents didn't want to loose their church, it was decided to raise the church floor by filling it with rubble from the Reservoir development and to lay a new higher floor. You can see that the windows are now level with the ground.
