Throwley Hall near Calton, Staffordshire

Supposedly the best ruin in the Peak District National Park, Throwley Hall was the manor house to the village of Throwley which was abandoned in 1508. The manor was no longer extended after 1600. By 1845 it was in a perilous state, abandoned by 1882, and the ruin you see here by 1921.
