Statue of Edward Winslow, Pilgrim Father, Droitwich Spa

This small bronze statue of Edward Winslow was sculpted by Sara Ingleby-Mackenzie and is located in the St. Andrew’s Square shopping centre, Droitwich Spa. Born in 1595 in Droitwich and baptised in St Peter’s Church, Winslow was one of the founding fathers of America who sailed on the Mayflower in 1620. He served as a governor in Plymouth Colony for many years. Ingleby-Mackenzie depicts him having just made landfall and claiming the land that is now Provincetown on Cape Cod.
