Coffin Bier in Holdenby Church, Northamptonshire

Coffin biers such as the example in the village Church of Holdenby, in Northamptonshire, were once commonly used to transport the coffin of the deceased from the lych-gate to the Church for the service, and then from the Church to the graveside for the burial.
