St Peter's Church Llanbedr

Llanbedr is a small village and is two miles from Crickhowell. A Church was built in Llanbedr in 1060 and the present Church was built on that site in the 14th and 15th centuries. The Church had some alterations in the 19th century. The Church is made of stone and has many stained glass windows. Inside are many pillars to support the structure. There is also a large porch with two benches in it, a Lych gate which is the main entrance to the Churchyard. Not everything in the Church is old as there are modern gutters and bars on the windows. The Brute family lived in Llanbedr and produced tablets which are on the Church walls. More of the colourful tablets from the 18th and 19th centuries can be found in the area. The Church opens for worship with usually a service at 9.30 or 10.30 a.m. on three Sundays a month.
