As Ron suggested, I finally did write to The Lord Mayor of London, Boris Johnson... and he responded!

Although he did not exactly solved my problem, he redirected me to a museum in London where tea is served with traditional style, which is close enough, but still a commercial place.

My quest is not finished!

Here is a copy of the message from the Mayor's office:

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your email to the Greater London Authority.

Firstly please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to your correspondence, the Mayor is keen to answer all enquiries received as fully as possible. However, he has received a very large amount of correspondence from Londoners since the election and all is being done to respond to these enquiries as speedily as possible.

I am very sorry to disappoint you, but the Greater London Authority does not hold any information about the culture and history of tea drinking in the UK. However, I am aware of a Museum that might be able to help you: "The Bramah Museum of Tea and Coffee" at
http://www.teaandcoffeemuseum.co.uk/

I hope that this information is helpful and thank you for taking the time to write to the Greater London Authority.

Yours sincerely,

Ruth Phillips
Public Liaison Officer
Greater London Authority

Ricardo~

We did the high tea at "The Ritz" about 7 years ago. Just myself and my then 15 y/o daughter. Yes it was ridiculously expensive. But, it's a once in a lifetime thing and I so enjoyed showing her the tradition from such a place as The Ritz.

There are many other hotels and cafes that do high tea as well. I've had tea with my family many many times done the proper English way so, for us going to The Ritz was more about the history, pampering and entertainment factor as part of our holdiay and to me it was well worth it.

Good luck.
