Dear Members,

We will soon be introducing a stand-alone search box into the forum, specifically for forum use only. It will have 2 options -

1) 'Search all threads' (this will be default and will search every thread in the forum for the keywords that you enter)
 2) 'Search England Q&A only' (will search only the threads in the England Q&A Forum)

In preperation for this, we are kindly asking if our members could help build up our 'England Q&A forum' by posting questions about England in it (even if you know the answer!) and to help by answering questions that other members post.

These questions and answers will help us to all learn much more about England, and the new search box will help people find the answers/posts they are looking for quickly and efficiently.
The new England Q&A will also, over time, bring in a lot more traffic from the search engines as the likes of Google eventually pick up on the new content and serve up our page links to their users who ask the same or similiar questions. Hopefully it will be a great addition to the site that people will find extremely interesting and useful, especially schools who often use the site as a learning tool.

Please read the guidelines below if you fancy taking part. We will kick it off shortly by asking a few simple questions that hopefully some of you can answer.

Have fun! and many thanks for helping us to build a better PoE for everyone. Hopefully with your help, in a few months time, we could have one of the most comprehensive Q&A's about England to be found anywhere.

Many thanks again,
Chris & Sarah

BASIC RULES & GUIDELINES FOR THE ENGLAND Q&A FORUM

Posting a question:

When posting a question in the England Q&A Forum, please use the Q&A search (coming soon) to check the question hasn't already been asked.

Please keep questions related to England as a country - its people, culture, traditions, history, geography, wildlife, etc. Any questions related to the website itself or to photography etc please use the relevent forums such as 'Photography', 'Picture Chat' or 'Help & Support'

To ask your question simply click 'Start a new thread' and type your question into the 'Thread Title:' box.
You will also need to type a few words into the 'Post:' field otherwise the thread won't get posted (we will fix this soon or at least provide a warning message on posting) A simple 'thanks' will do the trick! or whatever additions to the question you wish to add into the post field.

Please make sure you actually ask the question in the title of the thread. For instance if asking what the currency of England is, don't just title your thread 'England Currency'. Please title it to read as a question, such as 'What is the currency of England?'

Posting an answer:

To answer a question, simply type your answer into the box at the bottom of the thread and click the 'Post' button in the usual way. It is no different to participating in any other thread.
Please feel free to use any resource available (such as other websites) to look up your answer. The only thing we ask is that when answering questions please do not copy and paste your answer directly from another website. Please answer in your own words only, if more than a few words are required. Do not copy whole sentences/paragraphs from elsewhere.

If someone has already answered a question but you feel you could add to it or improve upon it, please go ahead and do so by making an additional post in the same thread.

Please be aware that any incorrect answers will be subject to deletion.

 Many thanks.
