I am not sure I totally understand this issue.

I understand that the text/content itself should not be copied and pasted, but that it can be reworded and typed in - is that correct?

What about the birthday greetings, pictures, etc., are they also a no-no?

Is the problem here one of copyright issues?

What if the source of the information/author is cited,  or must one have the permission of the owner/writer of the information before using it?

For example:  You find information on a given subject on Wikipedia - can you say the information came from Wikipedia? Or should you just point to the fact that Wikipedia has the information?  Can you put in the www address for Wikipedia?

If any one can give some clarity as to what is and what is not allowable, so that we don't cause problems for our POE site, it would be very much appreciated.

Hi

The simple rule is - Do not post any material on picturesofengland.com that has been copied from another website.

It is not only about copyright issues, but also content duplication, both of which we are keen to avoid.

If anyone wishes to post a link to a page/article on wikipedia, please do so. This is completely acceptable.

Hope that's of some help and now clarifies the matter.

Chris and Sarah

Thanks Chris & Sarah - I used Wikipedia as an example, can I assume that a link to other relevant sites would be OK?

I really appreciate your prompt responseSmile
