What McAfee are doing is disgraceful, they are besmirching the good name of POE for no reason. I can't understand why anybody would want to purchase McAfee anti-virus when a brilliant FREE version from AVG is available. For anybody wanting to download it for free and perfectly legal at that, see the following link: http://free.avg.com/us-en/download-avg-anti-virus-free

I use it and have had no problems whatsoever.

Hi James and CathyML. I don't get any of this nonsense as I sign on, or search for POE on Google so I don't know why you are James!

I still say download the following AVG anti-virus, it is very good and its FREE as are ongoing updates! Perhaps thats why I am not seeing it?

The only time that I ever had a problem is when C & S put the first notice up about town sponsorship, then I used to get a virus warning when logging in. But since they changed that there hasn't been anything further.  (I have Bit-Defender anti virus by the way and it seems very good)

Shame they don't give a reason why we were flagged as a security risk in the first place! but good news nonetheless.

I suppose one must give them their due, they actually did get back to you, rare enough in these days, and have (presumably) really done something about the problem.   Thanks Chris.

Not even an apology!

B.......s shouldn't be allowed to get away with it, money versus the small guy all the time.

I reckon it's even worse because they fail to give a reason for flagging up POE as a security risk in the first place.

I wonder how many potential new members, bookings, donations, searches etc POE has lost because of it?

That said I am pleased you have resolved the matter Chris/Sarah.

A little PAST & PRESENT story :

PAST.  Endless computer "update" time wasting. Crashes. Slow to do anything. £30 per year security. Terrible photo quality.

PRESENT. Fast and NO security. Superb screen photo quality.  Now using Apple MacBook Pro.  Downside is not cannot afford to eat since buying it !
