That was probably a bit unfair.  Waiting For Gillian was recorded by the late Mr Matt Munro.  Matt was the first British singer to tale part in the 'Hoarse Of The Year Show' (Eurovision Song Contest) way back in the days when we entered real songs sung by real singers.  He finished a very creditable second.

Used to have the occasional drink with Matt M. when I lived in Ealing. A very nice chap he was. Also sung the title track to the original Italian Job film, and didn't he do the UK version of Born Free which I think was also recorded by Andy Williams for the US market?
