Lovely Rita. Thank you Rita and Ron. My sister is studying for a Creative Writing degree at the moment.

She has thought about joining Ron and she does look in and has recommended us in the Writers Clinic website for inspirational photos but she says she feels like this is a special place for me here at POE and that is why she hasn't joined in which I understand.

Mindfulness (my meditation)

Sitting---

Just sitting;

mind at ease and fully present;

receptive, open, observant

to whatever happens:

shifting pattern of leaves in a dance

with their shadows;

slant of sunlight on a wall;

a flutter of wings to the birdbath;

mingled scent of flowers and mown grass.

Beyond boundaries of purpose or expectation,

serenely centered in the here and now.

That's very pretty, Rita.  Lovely imagery in your poem.  I wish I could take it to heart - living in the moment.

I am looking forward to Spring.

Where i hear laughter in the wind,

As weeping willows sway and bend

To feel the warmth and love in the air

And sense the surge of life everywhere,

Birds flit right past me, a goal on the wing,

Warbling sweet love songs to celebrate spring.

My world teems with life, in the sky, in earth,

Once again spring returns, whith the joy of new birth.

The Answer

I've found a perfect, foolproof way
of having just a perfect day
With no harsh word or unkind deed
to keep me from the peace I need

I never fear a traffic jam
or folks who aren't kind...as I am
No rain or sleet to soil my shoes
nor cloudy days to bring the blues

No harsh concerns can furl my brow
because I have the answer now
To keep all worries from my head
I simply don't get out of bed

LOL at you two.  Great stuff!

Yours reminds me of a prayer, Shaun. It was going around in email, and I don't know the exact words, but it goes something like this:

Lord, I think I'm doing OK today,

I've not been mean, or greedy, or impatient,

I've not been anxious, or bossy, or ignorant,

And I've not lost my temper or swore, or kicked the dog.

But in a few minutes, I'm going to be getting out of bed

And then I'll need all the help I can get.

Amen.   Smile
