OK guys, let's get this little puppy identified.

Here are some identification pointers.

It was a creeping plant. Scent when trod on was a sharp, astringent smell. It was growing on a bank under trees.

Here is the picture again, you have to click on the link.

I guess it would be helpful if I were to see it flower.

Maybe I could send POE up the road to check it out.

It's the 31st tree down on the right  .

Actually, it was the 32nd tree, and on the LEFT! Smile

Sarah and I took a quick walk along Green Lane, just for you!
However, after combing the verges left and right (was like a military exercise with one of us covering each side) we don't think we found your plant Frown

Please though take a look at the latest Wheatley pics starting here and working back (previous):

I had a quick look on google and your plant looks like it might be Ground Ivy (Creeping Charlie) see here: http://landscaping.about.com/cs/weedsdiseases/a/ground_ivy.htm

Oh my goodness, POE!

You are so wonderful!

I am so homesick now (OK, I'm always homesick).

I think the ground Ivy might be a hit.

I have taken numerous pictures of that very same fungi. Will have to share a few.

Bows down in honour of POE's wonderful picture tour of Green Lane in search of the mystery plant.
