I forgot to mention that a dissimulation of birds refers to smaller birds, and like most things there are several company terms for birds like a collection of water birds would be called a raft of birds.

Here's another one,  a descent of woodpeckers, I've never seen one in the wild, I'd love to though.

Come to North Cave wetlands Lyn, there's a pair of green woodpeckers and a pair of greater spotted too.  It should be a headbang of woodpeckers, a dropping of pigeons and a standstill of herons, if you ask me.
