Dear All

If you receive a phone call on your mobile from any person, saying that he
or she is a company engineer, or telling that they're checking your mobile
line, and you have to press #90 or #09 or any other number, end this call
immediately without pressing any numbers.

There is a fraud company using a device that once you press #90 or #09
they can access your 'SIM' card and make calls at your expense.
Forward this message to as many colleagues, relatives and friends as you
can, to stop it.

Many thanks for your time regarding this matter, take care and regards.

Thanks Andy, but I'd be immediately suspicious if i got the above in an email. Sounds like a scam itself, to get as many people as possible forwarding the email on. Of course I may be wrong, but those sorts of messages usually go straight in my delete folder

I know what you're saying. That's why I didn't forward it. I hope you don't mind that I put it here......if you're unhappy with it please feel free to delete it. Sincerely, Andy.

I've taken the liberty of phoning the number and it is indeed genuine Chris and Sarah.

Thanks Andy.  It's a shame that people have to do things like that isn't it?  Makes you wonder what their lives are like if the best they can do is to think up ways to scam the public.

I agree with POE about forwarding such an email though; I too would have sent it straight to the delete folder.

That's what makes it so difficult Diana....this is genuine, I talked to the officer involved, but in this day and age it's so hard to tell what's a real message and what isn't.

Nice to know :) It's hard to know what is real and what isn't. I delete any message that says to forward the message around. :D
