Yeh, mine did leak for a while, but stripped the engine down and made brown paper gaskets. Stuck the whole lot together with Red Hermatite and bolted it up. Never leaked again, we all did it round where I lived . The only problem was getting it apart again. Almost imposible. Thought all bikers knew that one.

Hum. that would be an hard one to answer, as I like history in general and archeology after that...and Indiana Jones movies. I asked my mother that question one time and she said she felt her father's era and when I asked her "why' she said because he was to young for World War I and to old for World War II, but at an era when everything we know of now and take for granted as "modern"  were coming out during  that era, such airplanes, automobiles, trains, movie industry,  etc.

Peter you are so right about the Triumphs, in those days we all learned the tricks of the trade pretty quickly. What a beautiful sound they made on a country road, can still hear it in my mind. If I was a bit younger I would have a new bonneville.

They are still so apealing .
