Round here you can even tell the difference between say a Dudley accent and a Rowley Regis accent. Every little place has it's own sounding accent and dialect. I'm from Old Hill orginally - Rowley people think we are posh!

Which part do you come from originally Sarah and Chris?

Sarah's from Oxford (she wanted me to make that really clear! lol), but I'm from the best part of the midlands - Berrminggum! Smile

Oh No! Another Brummie!!! LOL Chris

I'm afraid you have another one here, Stephanie.

I was born in Birmingham, and my sister still lives there.

I would love to hear yours too Krissy - is it a New Jersey accent?

John - I can't believe it - so many Brummies! Surprised For people from other areas it's a bit of fun local rivalry between the areas!

I'm not sure.  I grew up in Pennsylvania and when I moved to New Jersey everyone said I had a PA accent!!  I always pronounced my middle name...which is Mary...as "marry" instead of "merry".  Everyone says that I say it wrong!

People who are closer to NYC have more of a NYC accent.

Diana...do you have the Boston accent?
