Whilst we all sit in front of our computers, maybe we should spare a thought for the victims and their loved ones in this time of tragedy. Nowadays we all go on holidays abroad in the big silver birds and thank goodness events like this are few and far between. I'm devastated by the lack of any wreckage in this crash, it's an absolute miracle anyone has escaped alive. My heart goes out to them all.

I'm sure you speak for all us members in the POE forum Andy, indeed the world will see the pictures and it is truly awful. If there is a God, why does he/she allow this to happen?

Oh, that's so sad.  Thanks for posting it, Andy.  I hadn't heard.  Yes, Ron, that question always comes up at times like these.  No answer though.

It happened earlier this afternoon Jason, reports now are saying over 140 dead and maybe 30 or so survivors. The scene is utter devastation. And yes, the emergency services were unbelievably quick on the scene, they've achieved a miracle to get anyone out alive. Latest report says the black boxes have been recovered.

Yeh, I saw it on the news. Last count, only 27 got out alive, over 100 dead. So many emergency services turned up so quickly.

What can you say to the family and friends? My heart goes out to them.

She'll be fine. These are such rare events....I read somewhere that the odds of being involved in an air accident are the same as being killed by a donkey. Long odds for sure.
