Hi Andy--glad you got to enjoy some of our traditional summer weather doing your tour of England. Glad you made it safely back. I was working last night, though I'm sure there's lots of new stuff you've missed. I was just looking myself.

I'll have a good look around Paul, one day away and POE takes a lot of catching up with! My windscreen wipers were never off from 11.00am until 10.00pm........and that was the area between Lincoln, then Newcastle and finally Bakewell, then home.

I took my troubles down to Madame Miya
You know that gypsy with the cigar fire
She's got a pad down on Thirty-Fourth and Vine
Sellin' little bottles of Love Potion Number Nine

I told her that I was a flop with chics
I've been this way since 1956
She looked at my palm and she made a magic sign
She said "What you need is Love Potion Number Nine"

She bent down and turned around and gave me a wink
She said "I'm gonna make it up right here in the sink"
It smelled like turpentine, it looked like Indian ink
I held my nose, I closed my eyes, I took a drink

I didn't know if it was day or night
I started kissin' everything in sight
But when I kissed DENZIL down on Thirty-Fourth and Vine
He broke my little bottle of Love Potion Number Nine

The origins of "codswallop" seems a little obscure though some attibute it to Hiram Codd and his fizzy drink which some considered of low quality, the wallop being a slang term for beer--alledgedly.

thanks Paul, I needed an explaination, first time I've ever heard of an
