Thanks for your great efforts Ron.

I have never known the BBC to act so fast.

Thanks for your message also Chris and Sarah, no need for you to apologise.

Some great looking grounds there. I am a cricketer and have played at some lovely places.

I have also played at some grounds which I never wanted to see again.  Smile

My reply was posted twice so I deleted the second one.

Well the BBC didn't respond to me, although they did to POE owners Chris and Sarah which was the option I gave them so I am glad to have been of some help Stephen and you of course now get the recognition that you deserve.

Thanks to the BBC for sorting this quickly and I hope they had words with the person who stole the image!

Makes you wonder what they are looking for now Stephen, but never mind the forum is being used which is the main purpose.

It was nice to receive an email from the BBC today which basically says 'thanks for contacting us' and we will pass the complaint to the Cricket department. A bit late because it has already been sorted, but at least it arrived.

The photograph now has the correct copyright status with Stephen and http://www.PicturesOfEngland.com being mentioned so I guess that's a result.

Unfortunately, some people think it is perfectly OK to steal images off the internet. It has happened to me a few times now, so you are not alone Stephen. The latest example is a copyright picture of mine of Greys Court The House at Greys Court

The identical image appears on a site called M******** without acknowledgement to either PoE or myself as the photographer. The only allowable free use of the image would be for private use, but even in this case, acknowledgement should be given to PoE and the photographer.  M************ appears to be a commercial venture so the theft of copyright is not only rude but illegal.

In any case, the image is not licensable for sale, since  it is an amateur  picture taken on National Trust property, and liability for its commercial exploitation must lie with M*********** and not with me, since the image is used without my permission.

PS: Chris and Sarah please see my separate e-mail

PPS: I contacted the M******** website and the image in question has now been taken down, and another picture of Greys Court put in its place. I wonder if I get upset too easily, but there seems to be a cavalier attitude about pinching photos off the web and unless you flag it up, it will only get worse.
