I love the Fall with all her colors, crisp air and beautiful sunsets. I love going for walks and looking at the birds and all the wildlife. Last year I saw my first Piliated Woodpecker. He was gorgeous. I just love Indigo Buntings. The deer have come right up on my patio. The cats go crazy at the patio door when they are here. Cuddles likes to talk to the birds on the feeder. I like getting dressed up for Halloween and decorating the house. I have fun making and serving big Thanksgiving meals and making gifts for Christmas. I can just smell those Christmas cookies now. It is really relaxing to sit in front of the fire place and watch a movie with popcorn and a cup of hot chocolate.

My all time favourite hymn is We Plough the Fields and Scatter. It takes me right back to Harvest Festival at our village church (which was right next to the school), with all the flowers and harvested fruit and veg adding their beautiful aromas with the musty smell of the church.

I love Autumn and would come to England every Autum if I could. I'd catch me a leaf or two (do you know how hard that is?) and make some wishes. Oh yes, Autumn in England, I'm homesick again.

AN AUTUMN WALK.

Could this little old road be luring me now
Deep into autumn's fold;
Through the glorious light of the noonday sun
That illumines the trees of gold?

Through the vista that wanders and curves its way
Along the dreaming hill;
Through a radiant wood of leaves and boughs
That ring with the warblers' trill?

Could this little old road be enticing me now
Through the Indian summer heat,
Where the meadows are spawling with flowers and grass,
And the orchard is mellow-sweet?

Where the faraway hill stirs and glistens anew
In the beautiful autumn glow?
Could this little old road be beckoning now--
My heart is eager and I must go!

You always find such lovely poems Wolf!

I am a spring and summer person myself. Autumn and Winter are the hardest times for me at work. Working towards the Self Assessment tax return deadline in January spoils my Christmas every year!!! I only have 2 days off work and I will miss talking to my POE friends as much because I will have to commit myself fully to work soon!

Photography wise Autumn can be spectacular with the colours of the trees - if it ever stops raining here for us to take some photos!

Don't work too hard Steph, we will be thinking of you slogging away.

I will still mail you if I find anything suitable for the boys and yourself.

I prefer Spring and Summer as well Steph, I get that S.A.D feeling in winter, not enough daylight! I do agree though, autumn's really a photogenic season, lovely colours all around....if it ever stops raining!!Yell

I hate working in the P.O. before Christmas, it's like being buried alive in parcels and packets being sent all over the world, and I feel like i've moved in there  with all the extra hours lol

THE COLORS OF FALL.

Filling the sky with crimson and gold,
Leaves scatter without a sound.
Carelessly dancing in the crisp autumn air,
they gently cascade to the ground.
Covering the earth like a warm blanket,
of brilliant color and beauty,
the changing of the season beckons
for all the world to see.

Those poems are beautiful Wolf. Thanks for sharing.

Stephanie, sorry it gets so tough for you at work. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers as the season nears. We will miss you too.

Same for you Lyn. Hope it stops raining for you soon. I suffer from S.A.D. as well. I keep all the lights on in the house.

I will still be about Catherine, Wolf and Lyn - especially when I get a tedious moment like ... just! I will have to have short visits!
