Looks like I am behind the eight ball in welcoming you JacquelineEmbarassed.

I grew up in various places around Atlanta (Woodstock, Smyrna, Marrietta, Emerson etc...we moved a lot. LOL!) and still have family living there.  Can't say I miss it much, LOL, but it's always nice to meet someone from the same neck of the woods.Laughing

Welcome!

Hi all,  I've been gone for a few days.  I'm trying to access digital photos as my last computer crashed and took photos with it.  I think I have some photo discs somewhere & I'll post an avatar when I find them.  Thanks for all the good words.

Diana,  I'm new in Vinings and like the area. When were you last in ATL?

I had the same problem Jacqueline, my puter crashed, but I had the forethought of having an external hard drive. Backed up nearly all of my data and photo's on it. Notice I said "nearly all".  I got a bit careless about backining up and lost some.  USB external hard drives are quite cheap, so, all my data is now on 2 hard drives and memory sticks, and cds. Sounds like overkill, but better than losing them all. I also fitted a second hard drive in the computer with Windows, so if my main drive takes a nose dive, I have a second ready to go.

Peter,  You are so smart and expressed the horror of exactly where I am now.  I have now purchased two memory sticks and a packet of CDs to back up all future docs/pics/etc.  In the meantime, I've taken my computer to a place where I hope they can retrieve my "life."

Wow Jacqueline, you're making me strain the ole brain! LOL!  The last time I set foot in Atlanta was approximately 23 years ago! My family and I are not close, sad to say.  But I have met up with them at various other locations over the years.  Either they come to visit me or we would meet up at our grandparents' house in Jacksonville, Florida.

Diana,  You've missed nothing in Atlanta except the heat.  Tongue out    Like you I've also long dealt with familial estrangement.  It is sad but sometimes part of life.  Fortunately I'm still close to a some family members and have great friends.

Hi John, I don't think I've said hello to you yet.Frown I haven't been to Savannah yet but I would love to go someday.  Every time I think of it I think of the movie "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil"  (a great movie by the way), and Paula Deen! LOL!
