I have been visiting this site for a number of years whenever I feel like kicking back and reminiscing. It is the only "picture site" I use to visit what I like to consider my second home.

I'm from the US and was stationed in the UK for four years in the eighties (1982 - 1986). I was at RAF Greenham Common in Newbury, Berks and view that time as the best assignment of my twenty years in the USAF. I lived at 34 Stroud Green, Newbury, Berks right outside the gates of the Newbury Racecourse; what a beautiful place. Sorry I don't have any pictures of it to post.

What a beautiful country. I only wish I took as many pictures of the countryside as I did of friends and family.

I look forward to many more visits to the website.

Cheers,

Bob

Welcome Bob. We're glad you like the site and we feel honoured to be the only picture site you use. Don't worry about having no pictures to post, just sit back and enjoy what our wonderful contributors have uploaded.

Hi Bob---welcome to PoE from me too; you may have seen one or two of my pictures of Newbury---not to mention my 3 sites about Greenham Common. Well, I'll have to pop along to Stroud Green and take a photo or two. Newbury Racecouse has had a major refurbishment--- possibly since you were last here.

The last pic I saw of Upper Heyford Sue, was the runways chock full of new Rovers back in 2005 when they ceased trading.
