About Me

Now over 80 and retired (obviously), I have had a lifelong interest in railways (particularly steam locomotives) and latterly, photography, my main photographic interests being railways and landscapes.
Born on Tyneside, evacuated in 1939 to Carmarthen in south west Wales and returning to Tyneside in 1945, I eventually graduated from Bristol Uni. in 1953 and entered the teaching profession.
Careerwise (what a horrible word!) I tought chemistry/general science in secondary modern schools, grammar schools and a comprehensive school, in the West Midlands, Brecon and Carmarthen.
Married in 1959 and am blessed with two sons, (both married) and five grandchildren.
