Plush, in Dorset

The only road through the village is a quiet narrow lane. Half a mile further on around the bend, the Wessex Ridgeway crosses the lane on it's way to the Cerne Valley. The Wessex Ridgeway is a long-distance bridleway, which takes a diagonal route from the top of Dorset down to Lyme Regis on the coast.

Plush is one of Dorset's smallest villages, hidden away between Mappowder and Dorchester, about 5 miles north of Piddletrenthide. However, it's pub, The Brace Of Pheasants pictured here, has a big reputation for good food. The village still has it's original GPO phone box like many of Dorsets' villages.
