Goldfinch(Carduelis carduelis)... sorry it's abit blurred but I was meant to be taking the picture of him in the grass but caught this beautiful coloured bird in flight, I think it actually shows off his colours though - along Hothersall Lane, near Longridge in the Ribble Valley of Lancashire.

The common name of Marigold refers to its use in churches in medieval times at Easter time as a tribute to the Virgin Mary, as in Mary gold.
