I`m a design engineer that has worked in a variety of fields from retail to the military industry. I`m also a freelance photographer and live with my wife and four dogs, in a lovely small village, near Ashford in Kent.
Our dogs are important to us, and we enjoy their company. We have two German Shepherd dogs, and two Alaskan Malamutes, one I`m using as my avatar image. The Malamutes used to run on a rig for fun, but sadly one has a heart condition that now means he can`t pull the rig. The one in the avatar image is Shiya, and she is the biggest clown of all the dogs, and the most devious.
My interest in photography started in childhood, with an old 126 cartridge film camera, and I used to take photos of the airfix kit models that I made, I was about ten `ish at the time. Then later when I studied design, photography was one of the modules, so I learnt to process and print my own images. Now with the advances with digital technology I enjoy the greater freedom and creativity of digital and the software, but miss the magic of waiting to unroll the negatives after development.
I also do traditional illustrating, calligraphy, fencing (sword play), but don`t always find the time to squeeze it in. I enjoy ancient history, in particular the ancient greek world as it part of my heritage.
Well that`s about it, If anyone wants to know anything about my images, or a specific technique that I used then please get in touch. I also post most of my images on Google Earth, that way people can see where exaclty I took the photos from, thats buildings/structures only.
