So called because of the rounded rocks and pebbles created when this was a beach before the last ice age. The rocks were rolled around in the surf and rounded into their distinctive shapes

Botallack is an extensive and spectacular abandoned mine on the very edge of the cliffs near St Just in Cornwall. the iconic buildings are the two engine houses known as the Crowns. The climb down to them is so steep, it makes you wonder how the miners managed it in all weathers.
