Castles of Northumberland

Built in 1550, Lindisfarne Castle is a 16th century castle located on Holy Island, near Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, and is only accessible at low tide. It is a very picturesque setting on the once volatile border site between England and Wales. Vikings would also frequently attack the area.
