The Official 'Unofficial' POE Meeting House

If any POE members are considering a meet up they could well think of choosing the King's Arms in Hawkshead Cumbria. A great little pub in a wonderful and photogenic village that is virtually car free. Dave John and myself enjoyed a Monday lunchtime earlier, having a slurp and putting the world to rights. I wonder just how many POEsters felt their ears burning that Monday.

Flag Street, Hawkshead is more like an alley or mews but whatever you call it, it is a mass of plants and pots full of colourful flowers. A place to be proud of to live there.

Yellow Lines in Hawkshead ?

The alleys and tiny streets of Hawkshead are a wonder to see and so quaint, but why oh why have they spoiled this one with yellow lines? The village has no vehicle access except for deliveries and local folk who would know not to park there.
