Historic Railway bridge
2 stars
Mark Corby(2nd November 2009)

The main arguments seem to be it will cost a lot to restore but this has been proven to be a pile of sh!! The renovation and demoltion costs are the same. plus the fact it was sold for £1 at a public excluded meeting. And its very much against populsr opinion. IIm not sure if these peopkle can be voted out but they will be.

Old John Tower, Bradgate Park, Leicstershire

Leicester UK 1879 bridge due for demolition
5 stars
Mark Corby(26th September 2009)

Thanks steph. The truth is our council do not appreciate anything historic at all. They like all new construction and shiny modern things. Places like America have lots of new and nothing historic. History is worth keeping I feel.

Dennington Church
4 stars
Mark Corby(19th September 2009)

Good photo! You've managed to get it all in from an interesting viewpoint.

Garden spider
4 stars
Mark Corby(27th August 2009)

This is pretty good. Iknow these spiders are tiny things maybe 1 or 2cm across. Try and get some extension tubes jez to enable much closer focussing. The depth of field gets very narrow though.

Winter on the Downs
5 stars
Mark Corby(19th June 2009)

Love it! Pretty much classic sort of thing, dark in foreground lighter at back, you must have waited for the light, which can be a very long wait lol. Fantastic viewpoint too which you must have been chosen with care. These things tell me you're a very good photographer and a very patient one too. The result speaks for itself.

Siblings
5 stars
Mark Corby(19th June 2009)

Magnificent! Very dramatic. I like the low viewpoint but its exactly right to get the sea just clear of the beach rocks to tell you its on the coast if nobody knows it. Ther are some very classy photos on this site and this is one of them.

St. Paul's Cathedral London
5 stars
Mark Corby(19th June 2009)

Good photo and viewpoint. Looks a bit surreal to me, the juxtaposition of old and new but it does make a striking image.

Cromer Lighthouse, Norfolk
5 stars
Mark Corby(13th March 2009)

Very classic sort of photo. QWuite brilliantly composed and possibly cropped. Would make a good painting subject.Well balanced, you've got everything in thirds here more or less.Good photo Gary.

Waterfall near Hathersage
5 stars
Mark Corby(6th March 2009)

oops double post seems to happen when you hit refresh. Any way I'll add a bit more. If anyones heard of the golden section in art which is roughly a spiral thing dividing the canvas into 3rds this photo has it. the spiral starts at top right on edge of lope goes down then spirals back with large boulder and right edge of stream .That big boulder in the foreground totally lifts it from commonplace to inspired. PS sorry for waffling or if im getting wordy didnt meant too GREAT PIC!

The whole thing has a pleasing sort of balance to it. the white clouds on the right give a visual interest to your attention being pulled too far to the left with the obvious track and red barn on the other side. Simple subject but suberbly done.

Mark Corby(10th April 2008)

I like this pic. Has a good sense of time and place and very ecovatice for anyone who has experienced something like this scene. To me it has a really good sense of when youre standing on a small bridge looking down on it and the sun has just come out. I gave it 4 instead of 5 because the trees at the top have been cropped off too much. Lovely photo though!

Mark Corby(10th April 2008)

I quite like this photo. There's not really much subject matter there but it's really well done. I particularly like the depth of field with the twigs in the foreground Peggy has achieved, its almost like peeping over a hedge to see the river as you're walking along looking around.
