May I take this oppurtunity to say Hi to you Ruth and thank you for the welcome. I must own up that I am not Cornish other than by self adoption. I do agree Cornwall is such a special place but few realise how industrialised it was 18th&19th centuries, so much we take for granted today was born there in those times eg. the railway locomotive and the car just for starters, my interest is Cornish industrial archeaology hence the mining photos on POE. My wife was a Poldark addict and was a member of the Poldark Appreciation Society for many years.Nice to say hello to you, Vince

Hi Vince---Lisa might like to read about the expanded de la Pole property empire here in Ewelme, Oxon and Alice de la Pole's tomb in in the church there.

You can also see the village in Midsomer Murders episode 13, Beyond the Grave where Ewelme portrays the Midsomer village of Aspern Tallow and it's connections to the Civil War, as the story opens.

Very cool, Vince.  Cornwall is also one of the original five Celtic nations in that part of the world too, along with Scotland, Wales, the Brittany portion of France, and Ireland where my ancestors came from.
