I love Most Haunted, watched every episode of every series and have them all on DVD including the Live specials, fell madly in love with their psychic David Wells but he has left the show now and things aren’t quite the same

Emma - He is NOT!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and I don't do Halloween, never have, never will  .

Nor do I Sue, and I don't like the way the kids go round the houses playing trick or treat. I'm glad it wasn't around when my lads were young.

I got allot of flack for not letting my boys go trick or treating, but after a few years they just put it donw to me being an odd English woman.  Oh, and my boys don't seem to be damaged by not going out, so I'm not feeling like a neglectful mum.

Emma, David Wells is just very sensitive, he could teach me to get in touch with my own feelings amongst other things. Wink

Lots of the old people here who live on there own got frightened when kids first started doing this, it's a fairly new craze here, but I can't see the point of it. At least when we did 'penny for the guy' the money was spent on fireworks to 'celebrate' Guy Fawkes NOT blowing up the House of Commons, there was a purpose to it, but unfortunatley the kids of today don't seem to know who he was!! History in schools now is not the same as when I was at school or even when my lads were, sad eh?

Wow, you didn't have Halloween and trick or treating there, Lyn?  It was a big deal here in the 60's when I was a kid.  They even taught us songs in school to sing for the "trick" part of trick or treating.  It's not as popular nowadays, because too many weirdos had to spoil the fun for kids.  The worst that happened back when I was a kid was a few pumpkins might get smashed or somebody's house would get TP'd, or their car windows soaped.

I still get trick or treaters though.  And the number varies from year to year.  I can kind of predict or control how many kids come to the door by how much candy I buy.  If I buy a lot, I'll only get a handful of kids and then get stuck with all the candy.  But if I don't buy a lot of candy, I run out in the first hour because so many will come around.

Yes they do it here now Ruth but it's a failry new thing, like I said Bonfire night seems to be forgotten these days, very sad in my eyes, it's been taken over by Haolloween. Another British tradition going down the pan it appears. Frown
