Thanks to my family friends James, Ruth and John for your kind thoughts, it's appreciated.

I was on a cancellation list for my total knee replacement and got the call. Out of hospital after 5 days but the pain, the discomfort, wow!

Apparently up to 12 months to get back to normal, each case is different they say. Paracetamol, MST (Morphine) and Oramorph to help with the pain and really don't know how I might have got on without it.

Don't feel like doing too much too fast, so hang on in there guys n gals....and thanks again!

Thanks mate, it's been a hard 5 days and I wouldn't recommend it unless it's the last resort.

Hi Ron good to have you back A few wee drams will help no doubt. My mum has had one knee done twice, she is just turned 89 and still able to get around her house, up and down. Stick in there mate it will be worth it. have to say though mum was a lot less than 12 months, but as you say each case is different

I was just discussing knee replacement with James on another thread Ron. A friend of ours had his done last summer, he was in great pain to start with, but he was up and around and jetting off to Austrailia quite quickly. He has to have the other one done next month.  He's not looking forward to it, but he's so pleased with the one already done that he's willing to put up with the pain again.

You take care Smile

Thanks Dave, but the wee drams are out of bounds with morphine and Mum must be one brave lady if she has gone through pain re total knee replacement like I've had over the past 4/5 days.

And Ruth would I go in for another? No way unless it was absolutely necessary!

Thanks again James appreciated mate.
