Lancashire doesnt get the publicity as it deserves, such a beautiful diverse county with freindly people and fantastic history but I'm sorry to say southern Press always paint it as a gloomy cobbled street 'Lowry painting' type county which is far from the truth. if anyone out in the big wide world is interested in finding out more about the county i'm here to help you if I can but promis me me that if you come to Lancashire and a stranger speaks to you please have the courtesy to speak back as they are only being naturaly friendly. i was in Fleetwood last year and I overheard a Middle-aged couple discussing whether to take the small ferry to the other side of the estuary, was it worth the journey and what was on the otherside. I, being the freindly chap I am tried to enlighten them, they looked at me as if I had just landed from Mars, looked at each other then walked away without saying a word. They must be from down south i thought lol. anyway nice to be on board as they say. Mike |

I know how you feel about folks from some areas looking at you funny if you speak to them. Like you I come from a friendly area (the Black Country) and around here most people speak and pass the time of day as we walk up the street. When we go on holiday to Devon and speak to passers by they look at me as if I'm completely mad! Welcome to the site! |
