20240110 Elizabeth Bridge over sea inlet

The "Queen Elizabeth Bridge" forms part of the Lower Otter Restoration Project at Budleigh Salterton, Devon. The scheme is creating 55 hectares (136 acres) of mudflats, saltmarsh and other habitats along the Otter Estuary.

Sunny Otter Head

It is so pleasant in Budleigh Salterton, especially when the sun is out and the sky is blue. This shot from West Hill shows the pebbled beach, buildings of Budleigh,sun, pebbles, Ottermouth and Head with the iconic fir trees.

The thatched sky light of Fairlynch Museum had what looked like a "uniped gull" on the peak.He was resting and stood with a foot folded in plumage, hidden from view.

The path by Budleigh's pebbles is lit by lights reminiscent of Narnia. This view of the Promenade, with the dark sky, reminded me of the Narnia story.

October can be quite stormy in Budleigh. It isn't raining actually but the sky is layered and evil looking. The beach hut isn't being used.

Budleigh's flower boats

The flower boats at Budleigh are usually planted and set out in spring. This flower boat is being emptied of plants and soil because it needs repairing. The band of volunteers are working hard and it should be ready for next season.

Budleigh sunny day

Budleigh in November and a sunny morning, time to take your dog for a walk. The beachuts are now redundant but add a splash of colour to cheer the view. A bit of blue sky promises an improvement.
