I am a native of Retford and attended the Sir Frederick Milner shool from 1942 -45 and then County Tech. Coll. Worksop 1945 -47 . I signed as an apprentice vehicle mechanic with Clarkes Garage up Bridge St. but got the sack for being 2mins late back from lunch, we had to clock in . I joined the Army as a boy but got a chest condition and was discharged.
I`m fed up with telling you anymore as I`m 80yrs. old now. I played football for the Railways team under Babworth Bridge.in the `50s.
