Cottage at Loughrigg Tarn This cottage is situated at the western end of Loughrigg Tarn with unparalleled views over the tarn and fells. Lily Tarn Lily Tarn on Todd Crag above Ambleside to the west looking across the tarn with Loughrigg in mid distance and the Langdale fells just showing in the distance. A lovely place to be. Dry stone wall Todd Crag Stone wall half way up the fell from Ambleside towards Todd Crag and Lily Tarn. Ricketty old shed, Ambleside I have been watching this shed over the years and gradually seen it deteriorate. Every time I pass it something else has fallen off... Stock Ghyl Falls Stock Ghyl Falls in the woods on the eastern edge of Ambleside. December 2013 and not easy to get a good clean image due to the trees and branches. Several viewing points around but all similarly tree bound. Not tried it when the trees are in full leaf. Rydal Water from Sweden Bridge Lane October 2013 and a somewhat wet view from Sweden Bridge Lane across Rydal Water to the rain covered fells around Grasmere. Bridge House Ambleside 3-10-13 Bridge House in Ambleside was built in the 17th century over Stock Ghyll allegedly to avoid certain taxes. Now owned by the National Trust and used as an information centre it is said that at one point in time a family with 6 children occupied its 2 rooms. Dog Walkers sign A small but highly visible sign to dog walkers!!! There were 3 or 4 along the perimeter wall and hedge of this property.
