Car Park ?? Barn 2 The old stone barn again still in very good state of repair and does seem to be still in use on occasions. Twig and leaves 2-10-13 having had lunch in Bowness by the time I got back to Ambleside the afternoon had brightened up so on with the boots and out for an hour or two. Ambleside Mountain Rescue No wonderfully dramatic scenery here just a simple picture of the Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Headquarters on Lake Road Ambleside. Many people, and not all of them idiots I hasten to add, owe their survival to this dedicated band of volunteers. St Marys Church Ambleside Seems like the only place to get a reasonable shot of the church is from Rothay Road. So enclosed by trees it is almost impossible to get a good shot from anywhere else apart from Vicarage Road from where I have taken several. Even from the quite extensive graveyard a good angle is nigh on impossible. Millers Bridge Ambleside Millers Bridge over the River Rothay leads out of Rothay Park onto the road known as Under Loughrigg from where the choices are - right towards Rydal Water and eventually Grasmere, right and immediately soon left to climb up onto Loughrigg Fell, a wonderful place to spend a few hours just wandering around, or left along the River Rothay to Borrans Fields ending up at the pierhead This picture appears in the following picture tours: Camera Make: Canon Model: Canon EOS 500D |
