About the county of Warwickshire
Warwickshire, in the heart of England, is one of the most popular and most visited counties in the country. It is most famous for it's castle 'Warwick Castle' one of the great fortresses of Europe. Built on a hill top first fortified by William the Conquerer in 1068. Warwick Castle is a must visit when travelling to England, and there is much to discover in the town of Warwick itself. A few miles from Warwick is the wonderful riverside town of Stratford Upon Avon - the birthplace of William Shakespeare. Visit his house, where he was born and grew up and the beautiful Holy Trinity church where he was finally layed to rest. Over all, the county of Warwickshire is a beautiful and exciting county to explore with it's famous castle and historic towns and villages and beautiful green countryside. It is well situated in the heart of England with easy access to the stunning cotswolds and the neighbouring counties of Oxfordshire, Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Worcestershire and alot of Englands most famous cities, including London which is easily accessible to the South East.
