Autumn Heron

Along the Dales Way near the River Wharfe on a walk from Grassington. I sat and ate my lunch, whilst the Heron on the other side of the river watched and waited until he caught his.

What a beautiful and unusal picture. I think most people would have focused on the bird and water, instead, you have pulled out the beauty of the moss covered branch and autumnal leaves. I like it!

I saw the thumbnail but didn't see the heron. When I opend the image my eyes were drawn to the leaves, and then noticed the ('ghostly') bird. An interesting option.
