About Coleford

This pretty village lies in a picturesque position on the Mells river in the midst of famous Somerset scenery. It is within easy reach of Mells and is not far distant from both Radstock and Frome.

It is a lively place with a flourishing population. They have a carnival club (The Hucky Ducks) that takes its name from a relic of a by-gone age. The Hucky Duck as it is affectionately known is Coleford's old aqua-duct bridge left over from the ill-fated Somerset and Dorset canal waterway.

The preacher John Wesley is known to have preached in the village in October 1755.

There are lots of pretty villages tucked away in lovely part of Somerset, all are worthy of a visit, each has its own special character and element of surprise.

This is an ideal location for discovering the unexpected, visiting the stunning Georgian city of Bath, nearby Midsomer Norton or the beautiful Salisbury Plains
