I always go to South Devon in May. We have varied weather - last year it was really rainy! (there again the whole summer was rainy last year!). If you are thinking June/July it is best to come before our school holidays to get better deals. In May our school holidays are 23 - 31 May and the summer ones start 18 July this year all the way through to beginning of September.

Thanks for that very important info !!

Late May and early June are brilliant in the UK...before the influx of summer tourists. July is/was too busy for my likings.

Being a Uk resident, May/ June are my favourite months, fresh greenery, flowers and everything is life giving. There are other good months too depending on your preferences. Dont forget that we have 4 seasons here (sometimes all in the same day lol) and each season has its beauty and moods. we are actually on the same latitude as Newfoundland and Moscow but because we are warmed by the jet stream our climate is very temperate and changable. good luck patrick
