Light winds, rain, more rain, but mild here in Oxfordshire.

Strong winds and rain up north, in fact north Wales and all across Cumbria is badly affected by 'storm Desmond' according to television news reports, with flooding a major problem in at least 26 areas.

Oxfordshire is suffering very strong winds, without the rain at the moment.

Now there are 130 flood warnings across the UK.

Cumbria area particularly badly affected it seems. I guess we are lucky here in Oxfordshire at the moment, but we know where the water will eventually end up don't we?

Oxfordshire today is suffering light winds, but nothing too bad.

I heard yesterday that there are now 156 flood warnings in place throughout the UK, 56 of them severe!

Hope those affected will stay safe, but what a terrible shock just before Christmas (well anytime I guess) because it must create a whole lot of destruction in homes and work for many months to come.

The big clean begins up north, but how do we help ourselves in a situation like this?

Can we, or are we prepared to help ourselves is the real question, for example do you take any notice of the warnings re climate change and what are your thoughts?

The skies over Oxfordshire are almost blue this morning, not really winter weather is it?

Glenridding in Cumbria has been hit by more flood water and the massive clean up is ongoing.

Oxfordshire is cold and dull with light winds, I reckon we are lucky......for now at least!

A cold day and raining throughout Oxfordshire; and although not forecast yet I reckon there could well be a frost tonight.
