Hi Bob----Elp is a very unusul surname indeed.  William Elp was born Ryton on Dunsmore in 1740 . Genesreunited is the only place I've found him after a few moments searching.

Welcome to POE from Anna and Ron, Bob. Unable to 'elp' with the surname at present, but you never know what the members might come up with, like Paul above for example. Thanks for looking on behalf of Bob, Paul.

Bob---by the latter 1700s, the scene seems to have switched to Walsgrave on Sowe, West Midlands I believe the following Elp's/ birth year, are connected to William------Sarah, 1797; Charles 1796; Charlotte, 1800; Joseph 1801; Thomas 1803; Charles 1807.

I have a suspicion by the mid-1800s, the surname might have altered in it's spelling.

I think you might have more luck with their marriage certificate. William and Charlotte married 17 Nov. 1794 in Walsgrave on Sowe as you likely know anyway. Some of their children are listed above too.

Hi Bob---yes, I did mis-type Charlotte in error doing the post while just getting ready to leave for work, in my haste.
