So this is sport, I don't think so!

Animals not unreasonably bite when they are cornered, but can there be any justification for a supposedly professional to do such a thing?

I think he should be banned for a very long time indeed. It seems to me that all the money in the world and a fan club that appreciates his skills are not enough.

I say kick him out, period!

What say you members?

I heard on the radio that he's been banned twice before for exactly the same thing. I didn't see the incident, but my mum did and she said he tried to blame the Italian player for shouldering him in the mouth. So not only a cheat, but a liar and certainly a very poor example of a sportsman - yes, ban him Ron, for good.

Ruth you will know well, that kind of behaviour on the street, or in the home for that matter is an offence so why is it allowed on the football pitch?

Common assault in my opinion so into Court and get what you deserve!

Nothing short of a lifetime ban for me.

The offence as I see it Ron is a bit more serious than common assault, I would be going for a charge of AOABH, Assault Ocassioning Actual Bodily Harm. It falls in between Common where the injury is very minor and GBH, Grevious Bodily Harm, where obviously the injuries are much more serious but not life threatening. I agree he should be arrested and  dealt with by the Police, as would happen if that attack had been anywhere but on a football pitch. If I were the Italian chap I'd be calling for this sort of action.

FIFA will apparently make a decision today, but in my view there can be no lenient outcome to this biting incident.

I would give him a simple choice, accept a ban for life or have every tooth removed!

The best of it is some in Office are saying "i didn't see him bite anyone" and "these sort of things happen in football". If that's the case those who 'didn't see' need removing from their position also.

B.....y disgraceful and in my opinion it certainly isn't a sporting gesture!

I read that sponsors are getting nervous also and will take action after FIFA have made a decision.

I reckon they should be concerned if they want to sell their products, and need to be seen to be sqeaky clean.

According to BBC he's got a nine match ban - what a joke, what about any criminal charges, or don't they apply in football.
